If you are looking to improve your appearance, but are a little apprehensive to have a surgical procedure, you are in luck. With advances in the field of aesthetics, there are endless possibilities to customize a plan to get a more youthful look.
Injectables
Dysport, or Botox, is an injectable muscle relaxer that can smooth away wrinkles by
temporarily paralyzing the muscle that creates them. It requires roughly 24-72
hours to take effect, full results kick in at the 2 week mark, and results last up to four months. For deeper wrinkles, a number of different dermal fillers are available. Fillers are used for deep wrinkles, facial scars, enhancing lips, and restoring volume to areas of the face that may have become slightly hollow over time. Results last about six months and must be maintained.
Chemical Peels
Chemical peels are used to improve acne scars, fine wrinkles, mild sun damage, and pigment changes. This is performed by first cleansing the skin. The chemical (in a liquid or paste form) is then applied to the skin and left on for several minutes. It is then wiped off. You may feel some burning while the chemical is on your face, but a fan or cold pack can provide relief.
Fotofacial
This procedure is used to improve skin tone, texture, remove sun and age spots, and restore youthfulness. It can be done to the full face, neck, hands, or other parts of the body. FotoFacial is performed by using Pulsed Light, Infared, and/or Radiofrequency. FotoFacial treatments need to be done in a series, usually 5 treatments. Initial treatments will be performed every 3-4 weeks, after that, maintenance treatments are recommended every 3-6 months.
Dermaplaning
This procedure is used to exfoliate the skin. Designed to rid skin of roughness, mild acne scaring, superficial hyperpigmentation, and fine lines and wrinkles, resulting in a smooth and glowing appearance. It is performed by abrading the surface of the skin with a blade. After the treatment, a hydrating moisturizer is applied and sunscreen should be worn. There is no downtime associated with this procedure.
Fractional Laser
This treatment uses a device that encompasses a special laser to target a fraction of the skin at a time. The “fractional” treatment allows the skin to heal much faster than if the entire area were treated at once. It is used to treat fine lines and wrinkles, skin pigmentation and scaring. There may be some swelling after the treatment, but it will subside with in 1-2 days.
